Hundreds of J-Rock fans thronged Tokyo Street in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last night for the chance to meet and secure autographs from iconic samurai rocker Miyavi who held his very first meet and greet session here in Malaysia ahead of his concert tonight. The well received event which was organised by Amber Creations and supported by J-Rock Malaysia, Pavilion KL and concert presenters Asahi, saw a long line of fans gathering as early as mid afternoon, to catch the popular Japanese visual kei artiste in person. Despite three very successful world tours, Miyavi has never been to Malaysia until this week, and his presence in Kuala Lumpur was a huge treat for his loyal fans who have been longing for his arrival.
And Miyavi didn't disappoint, as he patiently spent nearly an hour an half signing personalised autographs on CDs, posters, books, artwork, phones, tablets and even guitars, for his fans, as well as making sure he flashed an appreciative smile while shaking hands with every single one of them who came. Many of his thrilled fans came bearing gifts including paintings, artwork, personally designed handicraft, greeting cards and other goodies, which the star accepted graciously. Among the fans who turned up to meet the guitar slapping star were MC Bee @ Beeman of local hip hop group ManHand and Norman Alive & Ice IcebabY of rock group Pegasus.
Post event, Miyavi was presented with a pair of custom dyed Converse sneakers from Kazuhiko Takakura, MD of Takakurazome, who came all the way from Kyoto, Japan, and a T-Shirt from J-Rock Malaysia as a token of their appreciation.
Miyavi's first live concert in Malaysia will be held tonight at The Stage, Avenue K, Kuala Lumpur at 8pm. Details are as per below:
