A rocking good time
We saw a different version of Bosco Wong tonight, a hyped up rock version! The popular Hong Kong artiste came out dressed in a black suit, a pair of dark glasses and a cane and rocked the concert hall at KL Live last Saturday evening. “Music Live in Malaysia 2012” saw the collaboration of Bosco Wong and Sherman Chung and also featured our local artist, Ling Kah Jun.
Soul Krazy & Katoon Network opened the “Music Live” concert with an energetic dance performance. After that, Sherman took to the stage and performed her first number, “It’s a Beautiful Day” followed by three fast numbers. She also heated up the stage with some nifty dance moves together with the dancers.
Sherman then passed the stage over to Kah Jun who belted out three songs. He gave a moving rendition of his famous number “Saam Goh Ji” (Three Words) and “Ji Seung Nei Fai Lok” (Wish you to be happy) while playing on the keyboard and got the audience singing together with him.
After finishing his solo segment, Kah Jun invited Sherman back on stage to do the duet with him “Sha Gua” (Fool). Halfway singing, both of them started to hold hands and this got the audience excited.
Kah Jun left the stage after the duet and Sherman continued on and gave us her version of a medley of two immensely popular English numbers, Adele’s “Rolling in the deep” and Bruno Mars’s “Just the way you are”.
Of course the night will not be complete without her performing her huge hit “Bei Ji Gei Dik Shun” (A Letter to yourself), while playing on the keyboard. Sherman said that this song meant a lot to her and gave her the determination to go on. “I feel quite nervous playing the keyboard and singing at the same time” but the fans shouted “Sherman Chung, we love you” to her give her support.
Our “rock star”, Bosco blazed the stage with two heavy rock flavored numbers, the late Anita Mui’s “Jeung Ping San Paik Hoi” (Break Open The Iceberg) and Faye Wong’s “Moe Ching Samba Mo” (Samba Dance). After the opening numbers, he shouted “That’s all you can do? Come one, you can do better than that” trying to rev up the atmosphere for more applauses and the fans cheered loudly. He later tone down the beat a little by performing Tiger Huang’s “Mei Na Me Jian Dan” (It’s not that easy) and had pitch problems here and there but from the response from his fans, it didn’t matter to them.
Bosco continued with his rock theme night belting out fast rock songs and even did an upbeat rock version of Jeff Chang’s love song, “Ai Ru Chao Sui” (Love Like The Tides). Soon it was encore time and he came out to perform two more songs, “Tai Sin” (Theme song from the popular TVB drama series, Lives of Omission) and Kelly Chen’s “Daai Yat Ji” (Big celebration), which aptly ended the concert with a burst of confetti. Both Sherman and Kah Jun joined him in the ending part of the song to bid their farewells.
