I, one of the thousands of hopefuls, who turned up for the audition at Berjaya Times Square on Saturday, Nov 29, 2008, was very upset and disappointed at the way the audition was held..
Firstly, 8tv promoted the auditions on their website and requested that each participant brings along a copy of the registration form and 2x 3R or 4R sized photograph.
On the day of the audition, a good number of people there DID NOT have registration forms, and the crew's were proudly handing them a copy.
My issue here is.. Why do you promote that we need to print out registration forms, and yet distribute it there. It's either the forms are ONLY available online, or ONLY available on that day, or those who already have a form prepared should be given priority to register first.
I am one of the many victims of a 6-hour-long queue just to get myself registered, when i already had all my documents prepared for the audition. Also throughout the 6 hours, i made myself many new friends, and surprisingly, i wasn't the only one who felt that way..
Secondly, PLEASE try to extend the audition days. KL is known for its swamp of hopefuls for ANY reality show for that matter.. more than 1000 people in one day is MADNESS! i was there at 9.15am.. and i auditioned at 8.30pm! thats a good 12 hours of sitting at the same place waiting to get registered (6 hours) and waiting to audition (another 6 hours). and PLEASE try also to increase the number of registration counters available.
Thirdly, we had to sit on the FLOOR of the shopping mall. May i remind you that it is a path where PEOPLE WALK ON. and we are asked to sit there.. that being said.. even in the waiting area, after registration, we had to sit on the floor. Just because, there weren't enough chairs to seat all of us..
Through all this.. we finally make it into the audition room, after a good 12 hours. May i ask you, HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO IMPRESS THE JUDGES?
You put us in this situation, and you expect us to wow the judges to make it through preliminary.
I strongly believe that if there could be better planning and execution of the areas i touched on earlier, the show would be very smoothly handled..
I also feel strongly that I am NOT the only one who feels this way.. You out there reading this, if u agree to this, add on to this thread.. FINALLY.. a place where we can voice out our opinions with no biasness involved, and where we can say what we want to say.
Thank you for reading. Please add on if you have anything to say.
