Speedzone Tour 2011 Official Grand Prix Festival @ Go-Kart Circuit, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) (9/4/11)
When: 6.00pm, Saturday, 9th April, 2011
When it comes to noise, excitement, sweat, heat and pounding heartbeats, the only thing that compares to the sheer adrenaline rush of the track, the tyres and the revving crescendo of Malaysian Grand Prix 2011 is the world's leading dance music party SPEEDZONE 2011 - The Official Grand Prix Party. With a green light for go, SPEEDZONE 2011 accelerates off the grid at its outdoor site at the Go-Kart Circuit at Sepang International Circuit on Saturday April 9th 2011.
Advance tickets for this stellar superstar party are priced at RM 35.00 and are available now from AirAsia RedTix (www.airasiaredtix.com) with tickets on the night selling at RM 55.00. More details can be found at www.speedzonetour.com.my.
Known for bringing together some of the world's top DJs and producers, SPEEDZONE has earned a top tier reputation for its high quality event production, with sound and cutting edge lighting and visuals that act as a perfect complement its pulse racing line ups.
This Malaysian Grand Prix season, SPEEDZONE Tour 2011 kicks the energy into overdrive with its strongest line up ever. Eddie Halliwell, Sander Kleinenberg, Darren Emerson & Seb Fontaine are joined by some of Malaysia top jocks, Terence C, Ian Ross & Phil K Lee for a late night session of driving electronic music.
Headliner Eddie Halliwell will be bringing the trademark hi-octane energy that has made him a global legend. Famous for scratching and re-editing tracks live, his sets of tech fuelled trance and techno have earned him a worldwide audience of fans that have turned his weekly Fire It Up Radio podcasts into one of this music scene´s most popular downloads. His hard-working dedication to his DJing craft has seen him develop his own audio-visual spectacular, Ed-It, as well as helming remix compilations for Cream, Gatecrasher, his own Fire It Up CDs and a celebrated series of cover-mount mixes for Mixmag magazine.
The legendary Sander Kleinenberg needs little introduction. The founder of Little Mountain Recordings is one of the most consistent and enduring producers in the scene. Defying categorization, the music he calls simply ‘house’ takes in a funky twist of progressive, trance and electro that is designed to move any dance floor, from huge mega-arenas to the most private VIP rooms. The man behind massive house smashes such as ‘This Is Miami’ will be rocking SPEEDZONE with one of his signature, mind-bending A-V blending DVJ shows.
Sharing this enormous pedigree is Darren Emerson. Making his name as part of techno icons Underworld, Emerson´s solo DJ sets quickly established him as a leading face of the trance, techno and progressive scenes as well as one of the dance scene´s leading remixers, with crossover dancefloor work for the likes of Bjork and Chemical Brothers. A series of mix comps for his own Underwater Records label and the renowned Global Underground have cemented his reputation as a DJ whose music is just as at home outside the club as in it.
As for Seb Fontaine, few DJs have done as much to popularize dance music, especially progressive house, as Fontaine. His weekly shows for BBC Radio 1 helped to bring dance music to the mainstream and with his Ibiza shows for the station he helped to cement the island's reputation as the world's party capital. His performance at SPEEDZONE Tour 2011 is an amazing opportunity to see one of the masters of the scene practice his craft.
And then there´s a special line up of local talent. SPEEDZONE fans will remain the peak time set from Terence C that blew the roof off Genting´s Arena of Stars. Always experimenting and pushing his own boundaries, the Official Grand Prix Festival will see its first Ableton Live set from a homegrown jock, pushing Terence into the realm of live performers.
It´s also a SPEEDZONE return for Ian Ross, whose deep progressive sound will reverberate around the Go-Kart´s outdoor arena. With residencies at Euphoria by Ministry of Sound, Maison, The Backroom and Atmosphere as well as production alias Darkroom Tale, Ross is set to step out into the limelight in 2011.
Rounding off the Official Grand Prix Festival with his SPEEDZONE debut is rising star Phil K Lee. Winner of Found @ Thirst, Malaysia's leading new DJ-talent competition, Phil will be playing a blend of progressive and techno tracks, sprinkled with a dash of house elements that is sure to add several thousand new fans to his growing legion of supporters.
Bringing all these talents together in one unmissable spectacular event, SPEEDZONE Tour 2011 - The Official Grand Prix Festival is set to be the quaking, bass-throbbing dance music party of the year. www.speedzonetour.com.my
