Wow this episode was the best yet... goodness gracious, there is TONS of talent. Almost every other contestant is super! There are thos that started to shine, notably ching, sook yee, cindy, ozie, farah and a few others which i forgot the name they are SOOO good... And it show that OIAM has higher quality in terms of talent, and the judging seems more organised this time around. However, taking only 4 out of a group is quite upsetting, and i feel good talent might be wasted this way. Especially when there are groups that have a higher percentage of good singers compared to others, perhaps they should have let more of the group through. Neat that they placed the one way mirror, as in the contestants do not know that there's a camera behind the mirror recording their reactions to the elimination... but that was one heck of a tear jerking experience... a few of those i felt were really good got voted out, like ayu and atilia... sobs... But whatever it is, the show must go on, so fight on people! Do your best!

I think by grouping them in 8's and picking only four of them thru for the next round is not fair at all. Unless if they were grouped at random, the selection could be engineered in such a way that certain contestants will make it thru or not make it thru no matter what.
As I missed a big part of the show, would someone please enlighten me if when one group was performing, the rest of the groups were watching?

No the other groups weren't watching...and they weren't grouped randomly...the judges gave a score to each of those who were passed at audition and this was used to create a seeding for the groups....fair right?

Oh like that... but how are they grouped according to seedings? The first 8 (who scored the highest) was put in Group 1? How? I still don't understand how this can be a fair way of elimination.

the top half were spread evenly thru the various groups..bottom half random. I mean is there any REALLY fair way to do it?
And then..there's still a surprise factor wen some decide to do better or worse than u can imagine...some of the guys for example...OMG:( ..still, apart from Ayu, no-one suffered unduly..and with her, it was like Nurfatimah or her...and Nur did good to that point, so...sorry Ayu. People don't realise that the judges rate ongoing potential very highly..and several more factors come into play then.

Thanx Imf... really appreciate your explanation.
I think the 'not fair' part lies not in how they were grouped, but in the way that only half from each group will make it thru the next round. Why half of each group? Why were they grouped in the first place? Why not just choose the half of the whole bunch who really did the best?
