Apparently the official OIAM website allows you to select songs for your OIAM favourites by voting from a list of selections, for an upcoming episode.
I was just browsing through and saw an incredible number of votes asking contestants like Dayang & Faizal to sing Gemilang and Suki to sing Cepat-Cepat, among others. That's a clear case of sabotage, since you can vote unlimited times and "Power Vote" someone to sing out of their element. Clearly an unfair thing to do. Whose silly idea was this anyway?
Anybody can pick pretty nasty numbers for the contestants just to make them look bad. I can imagine what will happen if Suki actually had to sing Cepat-Cepat which although sounds simple enough, is absolutely tricky and breath depleting, and requires a lot of articulation and stamina.
Some may say that's the challenge. Climbing up Mt Everest is a challenge, jumping off it is definitely NOT! Moreover a challenge has to be equally fair across board, so everyone has similar obstacles.
So tell us what you guys make of this.

this vote for your song thingy was clearly vulnerable to such abuse ("power voting") from the start. It's using the same format as the official site's poll, which has been abused too many times to date. Well, they could argue till the cows come home that the contestants should be able to sing any song if they're good enough, but clearly some songs REALLY don't suit some people. It's just cruel to do this to them... so i guess the only way is either go with it, or fight for the right song... the choice is up to you, ppl...

I know the organizer is trying to come out with something new and hoping that they have better quality in the whole competition.. better quality that suits Malaysian(that is y we got the opportunity to vote).. but this is definitely not right.. just imagine Gemilang getting so many votes for most of the contestants including the guys (sadly to say).. i mean it is already recognised that Gemilang is Jac's trademark and who in Malaysia can actually beat her by doing a BETTER job.. ok fine.. if suki or whoever did it well.. i am sure ppl will say that is not AS WELL AS JAC.. dont ruin ppl's chance in winning the million ringgit.. is just not fair at all if they cannot reject whichever song they got the next week..
p/s : vote wisely.. i know everyone wants their idol to get a better song.. but please dont sabotage other contestants by choosing the most difficult and the most not-suitable-song for them.. dont drop your idols faces nor others idol's.. i am sure u dont want that to happen to your own idol or yourself.. ;D cheers...

Okay, I don't even know whether it's good a not! Sometimes it is, Sometimes it isn't ... All these power voters are like, they are desperate for that contestant to sing that song but they didn't even think that the contestants may not be comfortable with that song. I tried to fight with everything I can, and I'm currently very happy with the results.

I think OIAM is not getting anywhere.... Too many surprises and changes until it doesn't make sense anymore.. Contestants have no respect for judgement anymore... and it makes the show looks cheap in a way.. What has happened to the good old days.. of professional judgement?? Respect is a very important aspect of idolism, you take that away and the whole system collapses... we idolise someone is becos we see something in him or her and respects it...and thats what gets people going week after week to see them... if we are to change the aspects of it.. meaning to say we go to see them be like clowns making a fool of themselves and pushing aside the judges comments as not important and arousing the crowd to their side that the judges are wrong in their judgement.... Imagine now.. Paul Moss and Shafinaz are like clownm judges in OIAM.. Now it sounds like a million rupiahs to me... sorry.. thats how I feel this program is now..

Yeah Idolfan... Aliff was too much. The next time Aliff do that again, I'd say Paul and Syafinaz should warn him right in his face! Whoops! I shouldn't be mentioning names, should I? ;D Now back to this topic, I think they should instead allow the contestants to choose for themselves the song they wanna sing from a list of songs suggested by forummers on the forum.

Totally disagree..they should do watever they want during judge comments..if they wanna walk away..walk away...they will get wats coming to them...but if they play with crowd..thats just fun, no harm done. We need more attitude in the contestants and less school pupil. I've rebuked disrespectful contestants in audition very strongly..perhaps u never saw that. If the judges talk nonsense, the contestant has right to disagree..but i put quite a bit of thought into the comments...and i believe, whether u agree or not, that there are always valid points raised.
