Apparently many votes that were sent during the finale never made it to be tallied in the final count. Most of them were rejected outright, or were sent messages proclaiming that lines were already closed when they were still open. The cheek of it all was the senders were still charged RM 0.50 sen each for it.
Voice your concerns and experiences here. For those of you who feel cheated there are many avenues for retribution. As a consumer you must exercise your rights so that such things don't occur.
Fire away.

Based on BH forum, it would appear that most forumers mass voted right after Faizal's second performance. And they received error messages or messages saying that voting line has been closed (when in fact, it did not) the following morning. And yes, they were charged for it too!
Fortunately, I only voted a few times... and all did not go through. Some were voted in the beginning of the show when Marion announced that Faizal was at the bottom. I understand that some forumers voted in the hundreds of ringgits and were charged for nothing.

I found this at www.jeffooi.com which is one of the most credible blogs in the country. 'One In A Million' voting system... any audit?
So, what's the reality when reality show "One In A Million" finals are finally over?
A voting system that's serious flawed, some say.
But the compelling questions came from Ghazalie Abdullah, Chief Executive of a public relations company, Ghazalie Rafeah Ali & Associates Sdn Bhd.
8TV's One In A Million Voting System Flawed More Votes Returned At 4.15 AM Following Morning Investigations must be made on 8TV's One In A Million Voting System.
"Something is not quite right," says PR Consultant Ghazalie Abdullah.
Votes sent in for his favourite during the live performance were returned with the message "E1001: Sorry, your request has not been successful. Please try again later."
Attempts were made later during the competitor's second performance. Some 40 over votes were sent in but only a few regret messages returned this time.
But what shocked Ghazalie were the incessant sms bleeps that awoke him at 4.16 am this morning. There were 37 to say, "E1001: Sorry, your request has not been successful. Please try again later."
There were also a few that said, "(RM0.50) OIAM: Sorry, voting has been closed. Thank you. Helpline: 03-55692755", although the votes were sent in well before the hosts had closed the voting last night.
"As the prize involved RM1 million, this matter should be investigated. Fans should not pay good money for a flawed system. And more importantly, neither must competitors lose out on account of a poor voting infrastructure," said Ghazalie.
"Where did it go wrong? SMS systems congestion, delay or failure at Maxis? Or a collapse of the system at 8TV?
"I am also wondering if the statements made on a number of occasions during the news conference by 8TV COO Ahmad Izham Omar that he was still counting suggested that the results were somewhat incomplete or suspect," he added.
Did the system at anytime fail? Where were the auditors to clarify on the votes?
As at 11.37 am, Ghazalie continued to receive from 32728 (the voting centre number), "(RM0.50) OIAM: Sorry, voting has been closed. Thank you. Helpline: 03-55692755" suggesting much of his votes were delayed in reaching 8TV. "The evidence of the flaws is all in my handphone as well as that of my family members. And I am sure in many others who voted for the contestants."
So, should investigations be made on 8TV's One In A Million Voting System?
"And could Faizal have won given that he had the greatest standing ovation that night?", asks Ghazalie.
Was Faizal the rightful winner if the SMS voting system was doubtful? Where did the RM1 million eventuially go to?
We would like to know who provided the SMS gateway and voting system solutions to this Media Prima-owned TV station.
I was alerted that Ghazalie has sent in similar information to the mainstream media, but I don't know they they carry them in the newspapers.
Meanwhile, Screenshots shall await an official response from 8TV, and it is assued the Right of Reply in this blog. We will also keep Ghazalie, the aggrieved party, fully informed once a reply is forthcoming.

By the way the company that runs the 32728 number is Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd. ( www.dapat.com) 3 (D) 2(A) 7 (P) 2 (A) 8 (T)Looks like they DAPAT a lot from us without delivering the job. Can we now DAPAT an explanation from them or DAPAT our money back, or do we have to file a complaint with the Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs Ministry, as well as the Multimedia Commission?

Yeap Carmen.. i was sitting beside u and was so amaze with your phone that can send 10 msges in one.. just like Faizal's song 3 in 1 but yours is better.. AhahHAhHAA..
But what's the use when u can send all 10 msges into DAPAT's rubbish bin...?? i myself sent 30+ msges just to vote for Faizal but i think i am considered as one of the LUCKIEST FELLA to have 2 votes counted.. as a big fan of our Superman... i feel guilty for not doing much to help him when he said so many thank you(s) to me during the AFTER PARTY..
Faizal was announced as the lowest votes' contestants and lucky enough the organizers has granted the permission to let him sing and compete for the 1 miliion ringgit again.. which was a very good news for him.. and to what i know.. ppl said u can start voting even when the show not yet start.. and it all counted before Marion said the line is open..
One more thing.. i think alot alot alot of votes will be casted in just right after Faizal's punya Medley.. the most memorable performance throughout the whole journey.. and guess what.. just only a few minutes after his performance.. the SORRY SORRY votes started coming in saying the line has been close.. is that what we call fair voting system when Faizal only got a few hundreds votes there in that very short period of time...??
i got a question here.. Faizal was at the bottom and towards the end he did emerge as the runners-up by losing just a 5% to Suki.. and he even leads his way after Alif for i guess 10+%...?? so the question here is WHO IS THE WINNER OF THE NIGHT...?? not to mention bout the best performance that Faizal got compliment throughout the whole night.. i even told him that "dah menang dah" when someone told him "sad-nyer tak dapat menang".. and that is the truth.. the best thing one true singer wants is to win more than a billion ppl's hearts.. and u got it SUPERMAN.. u seriously got it.. CONGRATULATION...!!!
p/s : u think 8tv can bring back the number of votes and count again...?? hehehe... and i think Faizal should ban DAPAT for ruinning up a so good chance in changing his life.. perhaps will Suki mind sharing the other half of the million ringgit...?? AhahHAhHAAa.. just kidding..
