Extracted from Ching at Wow Wow thread!!!Milo, Idolfan, MXV, Arjuna & myself were the only ones who turned up to watch Ching perform on her last night at Wow Wow Cafe in the Pandan Lake Club, and it was worth the effort. We found a very different Ching there, not the angst rock chick we have been watching on OIAM all this while, but one who belts out contempory numbers, in English, Chinese & Malay, with absolute ease. A side of Ching I think most of us did not expect. A much more solid & experienced performer with a fantastic repetoire of songs, and decent guitar playing. She even surprised us with her excellent delivery of Malay songs, especially her Misha Omar's Warna Warna Cinta - which all of us there agreed, should have been the song she should have sung at the second chance show. If that was the case it may just have been Ching in the final 12 instead of Zai. We also found out that Ching has a Chinese song recorded on a compilation album produced by Su Wah Records. I also found out earlier in the day through a client of mine, Jacky Ong, who is a Chinese recording artist and runs a music school that Ching is actually a bassist, and is well known in the cafe scene. After listening to Ching perform over 3 sets of 45 minutes, I realise perhaps Ching should have a got a little more further in OIAM and should not have been given the boot so early. It was real unfortunate that she had to compete against Dayang in the face off stage. Apparently she was the last one available for Dayang (as Dayang decided to pick last) to choose, as no one else picked her. Perhaps the rest sensed that she may be a tougher opponent than most of us have seen. (The Kaiyeh's add another godchild to their growing list. LOL!!!) (Dragon realising we have not seen the best of Ching, just yet) Hopefully we will see Ching in next year's challenge. I will definitely see her in a different light this time around. (Arjuna who also enjoyed Ching's performance, however, did some promotions of his own for his OIAM) For those of you who misssed Ching's performance you can catch her from August 1st at Club De Vegas from Monday to Friday, 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
