allenis and jinli.. yes but is there time to improve? and if they don't should the others suffer and get voted out because people think they "might" get better....... Like Paul said there is 1,000,000.00rm up for grabs and it is time to show what you have and if you are able to make a good album and sell.

ok, let say no time for them to improve...people will still vote their favourite contestant, not the best contestant. we can't predict who will win. SMS voting is all about popularity...i think, if oiam and any other reality show really serious about looking for the best singer/enternainer, they shouldn't use sms voting, just let the profesional judges do it.. So that the best will be the winner.

agree with you "Allenis" would be best for a group of judges to do it.
Sarah is one of Malaysia's best singers and it is crazy to see her in the bottom 3.. yes maybe her fans think that she will be okay so not many will vote but I also think that maybe the other singers familys will be voting her out because they know that if she gets to the final she will win so they vote no for her and then dont have to worry about her.. The other singers familys have alot of money so yeah I feel sorry for Sarah if she does get voted out by people because they want their singer to win...

Also I think it is crazy that Rony was voted out.... he was better than most of them in the top 12.. people need to wake up and think before they vote.

I really think OIAM should stop the voting crap and start letting the judges make their decision. I mean, they know who is teruk, who is the bomb, so why let public votes to change the results? One million bucks is at stake here, not One Hundred! Knowing very well OIAM will become a popularity contest if there's voting, therefore the "motive" of the show is gone. They want to give away 1 million bucks to the winner who deserves it, if the voting system continues, who knows the 1 million will ended up to someone who doesn't deserve it.
We have a great example, take a look at last year. Now I am not bringing this up to start an old argument of whether they deserve it or not, I'm just using it as an example. Now, last year, as we all know, Suki won, knowing very well Faizal rocked PWTC that night, the following day, forums are flooded with people saying it is unfair and crap. A year later, look at what happened, Faizal has an album out together with Farah. What happened to Suki? She may won that 1Million, but Faizal won the hearts of million. Now what I am saying here is, kita sudah ada satu contoh yang baik, bahawa cara undian ini membawa kekecohan dan tidak bermakna, kalau Malaysian asyik asyik vote contestant yang tak beberapa talented, in the end, kita akan mendapat Finale seperti Season 1. Don't let history repeat itself, jangan ulang Sejarah.
It is time for Malaysians to wake up and vote for talent and not for popularity. This is a talent show, not a popularity show. They don't give 1 Million bucks for how popular you are but how talented you are.
I'm sorry if I have offended any parties. I sincerely apologize for my words, I'm just stating the fact.

Rentak Sejuta's Episode 7 (Top 10) Review
The last few years has seen tremendous growth for the Malaysian music industry, and I am not talking about album sales, but more about the opening up of the local music market to the non Malays, not just in the number of non Malay artistes that are releasing material but in the number of non Malay listeners as well. With the proliferation of indie acts and also urban based reality shows such as the franchised Idol series and our self concocted One In A Million, Malaysians who have preferred international artistes are starting to buy into the local music scene as well. Which really augurs well for a market seemingly coming of age, and looking set to explore opportunities beyond our shores. So many underground acts from the indie scene have made it into the forefront of the mainstream and are giving a good run against the tradionalists, not just in album sales but also by capturing sought after awards and marketshare. The same can be said about the winners & finalists who have come out of urban demographed reality talent shows, especially those churned out by 8TV. Artistes who came out of reality shows such as the multi award winning Jaclyn Victor, platinum selling Daniel Lee, Faizal Tahir, Farah Asyikin & Dina have certainly stirred up the imagination of the masses. Others who have captured our minds and our hearts include sterling acts from the indie scene such as Too Phat, Pop Shuvit, One Buck Short, Dragon Red, Meet Uncle Hussein, Reshmonu, OAG & Jason Lo among the bountiful of acts out there today.
Unfortunately, the finalists from the much promised OIAM season 2 have hardly captured our sentiments or stirred anything at all, and give us the impression that the urban music scene is already a spent force. Although there may have been minimal improvements over the week before for some of the would-be stars, the general verdict is that this year¡¯s competition is no where near last season¡¯s. In fact it pales in comparison, considering the sterling line up that was presented to us in year one. Most of the top 20 last year can easily wipe out the competition this year if they had reentered again. As you can see, even last year¡¯s No. 89 (Ayu) who has made it into the top 10 seems to be doing a better job than most of the current crop. Need I say more? I do not know whether our 2 over zealous judges have offered us a less than par line up because they could not find anyone better in the entire collection of auditioners or made decisions based on the marketable image, or whether what they may have thought to be gems actually turned out to be duds. Or could it be these so called best of the lot, are actually not even bothered in making a conceited effort to go the distance, and are satisfied in simply giving us run of the mill performances. Perhaps, they have not been pushed hard enough or guided properly or molded into winners by those who are responsible for their weekly performances, so much so that they have taken it too easy and are only producing less than stellar results. I certainly hope they were not just planning to make it to the top by just the packaging alone or with the help of supporters with deep pockets. That would be truly sad, and an insult to all those who have ventured forth before them. Jac, Dina, Farah, Faizal, Suki, Nita & Daniel did not get to the top on raw talent alone. They put in maximum effort every week in order to stay in front of the very hungry pack that they were in, and let no quarter slip them by. They did it on and off stage every single day during the competition and more so now to get to where they want to go. I do not see that kind of hunger in this new batch of hopefuls. I really do not. I do not see the passion of last year¡¯s competitors this year. And it¡¯s all about the passion. Real passion for the arts, so much so that you are willing to take what little you have and make the very best out of it, by squeezing every little drop you can. This year I only see the talk but not the walk. And even the talk seems rather muted. But enough of that for now, let¡¯s get on with what transpired in Episode 7.
It was hardly unexpected that 2 of the better singers were given the boot from the Top 12. It has happened before in OIAM and will likely to happen again. It was unfortunate that both Rina & Rony were the victims this time around. And it was not surprising that top contender Sarah was found lingering in the bottom 3 but a little unexpected this early in the competition though. But the shocker of shockers was to discover the lowest rated of the lot, Tiara, getting the highest number of votes. Go figure. I am sure most of you are smart enough to figure that one out. Anyway lets not dwell on what has been dealt out as it wont make any difference for now, and just wish our eliminated 2 the very best and hope that it will not be the last we hear from them.
Promising singer Shila still seems ¡°Stuck¡± in transition from a child performer to a matured adult singer this week with her marginally improved Stacy Orrico number. She has the package and the vocal ability, but unfortunately is still tethering in between gears. Although musical enough, her constant sharp notes hamper her passable yet upbeat performances. Good enough for another week.
I agree with Paul that Intan is way better than what she is producing in this competition. It¡¯s as if she is in shell shock once she is on stage and is gripped with fear against her less illustrious peers in the contest. Even so her ¡°Pilihlah Aku¡± (was this a subliminal message to the voters?) was good enough but hardly a brilliant performance to keep her safe at least for another week.
¡°Is he the singer who can cook, or the cook who can sing?¡± commented Paul Moss after Shone¡¯s rather straightforward delivery of Ferhad¡¯s ¡°Kasih Berubah¡±. At times during the song, Shone sounds more credible than Ferhad himself, but I totally agree with Paul that he did not add anything to the song lest create any drama at all in his performance. At this stage of the competition, and with a million at stake, Shone needs to be a lot more creative than just to be able to carry a tune alone. If his cooking is anything like his singing thus far, please point me to the nearest McDonalds. Nevertheless he should make the cut again this week.
Ayu seems to have the goods and the potential to deliver but needs to tone down on the shouty highs. Although her melodic ¡°Langit Ketujuh¡± was a better and more palatable choice of song, she still needs to be a lot more imaginative with her phrasing and nuances. Even so, it was a strong albeit a little loud effort that will have fans rooting for her.
Did anyone know what Iz was doing at all? He was quick to have an explanation about it though, in his blog and in his section here in Rentak. Whether you accept it or not it is entirely up to you guys since you are the guys who spend money on the votes. As for me I will only comment on what I saw. And what I saw was total chaos from the word GO, and I am extremely surprised that both Syafinaz & Paul (especially Paul) let him off with just a slap on the wrist. What¡¯s up judges, are we getting soft here or ¡ is there something we should know? The bottom line is it was the worst ever performance by a finalist in all 4 seasons of reality talent shows by 8TV, so much so that the entire studio audience could hear a well known reporter from a mainstream Malay paper, leap up in disbelief and screaming ¡°buruk¡± & ¡°benci¡± several times and storm out of the studio with a fellow colleague, during the commercial break after Iz¡¯s turn. Up to now, I am not certain whether Iz has sufficient talent or not, because thus far I have seen a lot of ¡°theatrics¡± rather than someone actually delivering the song. Perhaps, he spends way too much effort on the impact he forgets about focusing on the singing. I would rather he just stood still in front of the mike and concentrated on just singing the song without any distractions. Perhaps then he may just have the impact he is looking for. I won¡¯t be surprised if his legions of fans will save him though.
Did the guitar help Joni this week? Yes & no. She certainly looked good with it and had moments when it all worked well together, but overall it was more incohesive than not. Frankly, I though she was more distracted with the guitar wrapped around her shoulder that her singing suffered throughout. Most of the time she was trying to focus in keeping in time with the band and completely forgot about the singing, and the gaps were quite apparent. At times the guitar was there just as a prop, and hardly contributed to enhancing her pop-ability. I do not know whether Joni was ¡°better than Avril Lavigne, live¡± but if it was, then Joni should certainly be heading for super stardom, based on what the judges are implying. As for me, it was probably enough to get her through to the next round, marginally.
Tiara is someone who just can carry a tune and is comfortable to keep it light and easy, and within her range. Like most of us here, I have never seen these ¡°so called moments of manja magic¡± that Paul claims he has witnessed but who are we to question a musical wizard such as Paul, right? However, this week, her limited vocals were weightier than previously ventured, with a breezy and frill free rendition of ¡°Andaikan Kau Datang¡± from heavyweight Ruth Sahayana. Vocal expert Syafinaz who ensured us that her ¡°anak buah¡± was there entirely on her own merit, grilled her on the lack of play with her dynamics, and but seriously how does one play with dynamics when they don¡¯t have any? Whatever said, Tiara did way better this week than at least 2 of the finalist and would most likely be around to face more ¡°fire¡± from the judges in Episode 8.
Mark was simply dreadful this week. He could hardly carry a tune, and was pitching more than a spiraling plane with its rudder and wings clipped. It was pure self destruct.
Ab took the easy road, considering his peers were hardly up to the mark, with a straightforward & sunny faced ¡°Picture of You¡±. I agree with Paul that Ab is ¡°bigger than the song¡± and is definitely a ¡°natural pop performer who belongs on stage¡±. Hopefully we will see him exploring a little more next week rather than playing it so safe. If he maintains his consistency, he should make it all the way to the grand finals.
It¡¯s quite clear that Sarah has a breezy path to the finals based on her talent & experience alone, and her Lady Marmalade was more than good enough against the other under achievers, to rank her way above the others. Unfortunately, based on what transpired last week, I believe the people who make the decisions by SMS may have something else to say. Dangerous weapon, that OUT vote is.
Looking at last week¡¯s performances, it was clear that both Mark & Iz were the ones, who have come up short, and either should be ready to face the exit. But I doubt that will happen. I dare not even offer an option, but Sarah is looking dangerously close. Be sensible and vote wisely and fairly folks.

Episode 7 - Scenes from the Top 10 Show (Part 1)Marion preps up during the commercial break."They want me to remember all these lines?"* We hope our viewers will not be offended if they find less pics of some of their faves here. This week I have very few pics that came out well enough of Ayu & Iz as they were moving to quickly on stage for me to get decent pics. Please note some contestants will have less pics than others every week depending on circumstances beyond our control.
