A friend of one of the contestants whom i personally know (i wont say who) told me that this SHOW is actually unfair, and judges actually CHOSE the people they alredy KNOW like ISAAC, SUE, JO, BRANCY, YUZ and i was told some of the contestants were students of the judges. and obviously seen on every episode, the judges favorites. way to go malaysian tv. i think it's unfair to Isaac, Sue, Jo, Brancy and Yuz that you said that. i mean they work really hard to do the dances every week and they don't deserve to have their efforts demeaned by saying that they are still in the comp because the judges are playing favorites. even if you think/know that is the case. at least give them some credit. secondly. it's reality tv. please lah. what do you expect. reality tv is made to sell products. nike, tranz, fly fm? halo! to get ppl to watch reality tv there has to be drama and attractive people. sue, jo and brancy are one of the many attractive girls on the show. thirdly. i think that your comments are warranted. but sometimes the delivery is a bit harsh. i think the fans of this show are too forgiving and bias towards the dancers. at least you stimulate debate and thought through your comments. the dressing was a bit risque. but it's 8tv not TV3 or RTM 1&2. the 9.30pm time slot is late...for the young kiddies out there. not that i'm saying kids aren't watching the show but hey it's their choice. you underestimate kids these days. and parents should be aware what their kids are watching (even though that's not always the case). the girls are chinese. so as long as they aren't muslim i don't think the tv stations or any censorship board cares as much. as a muslim i wasn't offended by any of the dancing. it is not hurting or killing anyone. so i don't see the problem. if we seek to limit the boundaries of artistic expression to such extremes, we are one step closer to becoming a totalitarian society.

Rentak Sejuta¡¦s Weekly Review: Episode 8 ¡V Top 14 (Part 2)No hostilities this week from all partiesJuliana looking absolutely stunning this week.Orange & Vish opened this week¡¦s proceedings, amid a lot of cheers, with an acceptable but unmoving performance, which pretty much guaranteed the curtains down for them. I don¡¦t know whether it was the choreography (which kept them so far apart throughout) or the totally inappropriate music, which caused them to completely not connect with one another, as they normally do. I suppose it was the best, Azwa, could do considering Vish¡¦s physical limitations, as far as the choreography was concerned. Even with such an undemanding routine, their performance was not compelling at all, although the execution was satisfactory. Vish¡¦s weaknesses were more apparent this week, and were further compounded by the fact that he could not even muster his unique talent of being able to emote and immense himself completely in his dance, as he usually does. Orange faired a lot better with a descent execution of her routine, but unfortunately she too was hardly ¡§dancing¡¨. Both of them seemed to be missing their usual synergy, and seemed a little disenchanted. It seemed like they had already decided that their journey was over, even before they took the stage. I was equally unimpressed with Nikki & Yuz¡¦s performance. Although Yuz executed his moves admirably and showed that he deserves to be around a little longer, Nikki¡¦s moves just seemed more like Minnie Mouse in a Disney on Parade show rather than in a Broadway musical. Although it had the requisite cheekiness for the selected theme, it was still way too kiddy like and did not have the necessary sophistication. Most of her steps seemed incomplete and unresolved. Their routine was fun to watch for its cutesy appeal, but they did not take advantage of the opportunity presented by it, to truly impress the viewers. A master shadow dance? So one party has to be a step slower than the other? I am still wondering about that. As far as I know my shadow has never been slower than me, at least visibly, but if we assume that is the case, then I would say on occasions the shadow was faster than the master, and most of the time in sync with him too, as far as the performance by Isaac & Sue goes by. If we ignore the master shadow interpretation, then I would say that it was a good, strong and athletic performance by both of them. But I do agree with Judimar that the transitions between the steps were missing. It also lacked the emotional quality required to make the routine engaging & explosive. Whatever it may be it is clear that this is a trusting partnership that can execute their moves well enough every week, and can be a big threat to all the other contestants, if they can manage to be consistent in all departments all the time. I miss Dennis¡¦ excellent role play in his Paso Doble. He was outstanding then as the brazen and immaculate bullfighter. Unfortunately he seemed to have left his natural charisma on the sidelines when he took on the Argentine tango with the impeccable Becky this week. Even his moves were lacklustre and did not display the appropriate seductiveness required to sweep the woman he was dancing with off the floor and ignite the viewer¡¦s imaginations. I was a little disappointed but it was not a total loss as he always manages to impress enough to stay in front. Becky on the other hand was absolutely tenacious, and all her overtures, were clearly designed to titillate the audience into submission. It was an excellent display by her that will keep her very close to the top. There was one move that simply made me gasp for air in Alam¡¦s dance with Noor; when he pulled himself up with one arm, while dragging his extended left leg across the floor, into an arm stand, followed by a shoulder stand. It was wildly amazing, but I think a lot of people may have missed it as they would have been too engrossed watching Noor very gently trying to pull herself into a shoulder stand too. And even though everyone in the audience may have seen it, the judges missed or did not comment on Noor¡¦s fumble when she dropped her hand to balance herself in one of the technical moments of their performance, as they (the judges) chose to only discuss the positives. It was not really a major disaster as Noor & Alam¡¦s overall performance was a delight to watch, and they are the most synergistic as a pair, among all their peers. I don¡¦t think any of the viewers would have really minded the mistakes considering the rest of the performance was so engaging. Once again, they have not failed to impress. What could have been an excellent performance by both Jo & Jimmy was marred by major fumbles in the lifts of their funky routine. I am surprised that Pat Ibrahim chose to ignore it and go the opposite of the other judges when it was so evident that Jo & Jimmy struggled with their showpiece lift, especially Jo who clearly struggled to swing herself up on top of Jimmy who himself was struggling to keep her up. Yes the routine may have seemed fun and energetic, but I think it had probably more to do with the dancy-pop beat of Daft Punk¡¦s One More Time. They are both good dancers who should have really given us a more polished performance, especially this late in the competition. I did however like the well executed amazing wide legged leap frog that Jimmy did over Jo, in the opening sequence of their dance. I enjoyed Firul & Brancy¡¦s remixed interpretation of the mambo which was audacious, exciting, and well executed, even though it may have raised a few eyebrows from the more prudish of viewers. But it was really more cheeky than vulgar, although there will be a few closed or shallow minds who may have been overly distressed. Both Firul & Brancy left their inhibitions backstage and showed us that they are two very capable and competent dancers who were willing to take chances to ensure that they came out tops in this competition. Let¡¦s face it. Latin dancing is all about the beauty of seduction and the sexual tension between 2 people, so it has to be viewed in that context without making it into something that it¡¦s not. Their performance may have been a little racy, but it was consistent with the spirit of the genre. It was delivered with total confidence and style, and with no noticeable flaws, and with enough complexities to keep the studio audience awed and eager for more. Of the two, Brancy was certainly more of the showman, and played her part to the hilt, and showed us what a wildcat she can be. But Firul was definitely more emotive and sleeker than the week before. Overall it was a strong comeback for both of them, after the ¡§close but no cigar¡¨ performance last week. Overall, I think it has been a combative week, with the frontrunners clearly trying to out do each other. It was really no surprise to see Vish, Orange & Nikki in the bottom 4, but I think it was really a toss up between Dennis, Jimmy & Isaac for the last slot, which Isaac unfortunately got. The producers gave everyone a good scare when they pulled up Jimmy, Becky, Yuz and Noor to the forefront in the elimination segment. I thought that was a clever and heart aching surprise. From what I heard from one of the judges they were the ones with the highest scores for the night. Tense moments for both Isaac & vishVish takes it with his chin and spirits upOut but certainly not downFrankly Orange is a much better and more versatile dancer than Nikki, but was unfortunate to be eliminated. She had a real disadvantage working with Vish who was physically the least strong male in the competition, which did not give them the opportunity to try out more demanding routines. But kudos for her to making the best out of it without complaining and being disillusioned, and to come out fighting every week. Whatever the case, they had great chemistry together. Unfortunately it was clearly time for Vish to go, after riding the wave for quite a while. What he lacked in physique or technique in other disciplines, he made up for it with pizzazz. In time I am certain, he will be a versatile dancer too, and I wouldn¡¦t be surprised to see him being an accomplished Latin dancer as well as a Bharata Natyam one. Time for him to hit the gym, to build up all those mus-kels (muscles). This week's rankings: 1. Brancy & Firul 2. Noor & Alam 3. Becky & Dennis 4. Isaac & Sue 5. Jo & Jimmy 6. Yuz & Nikki 7. Orange & Vish Meet your top 12 as the competition gets harder next week. The very vocal and expressive Vish, a far cry from the one who first auditioned.Still one the most fun couple to watchThe real winners this week, however were the fans, as they got to see a competitive show, and more interesting and engaging performances from the contestants. Milo & Tengku Lana certainly concur that it was a splendid eveningThe night doesn¡¦t end just yet until the obligatory teh tarik & nasi lemak is consumed behind the venue. Wait a minute they are all having 100 Plus. Aiyah, all these fitness people! LOL!!!

Before anyone says that I post more of my favourites pics than others, let me be quick to clarify. First of all I have no faves. Secondly I take a lot of pics of each and everyone of the contestants but not all turn up fine enuff to post here. Some contestants are just more fidgety than others, so their pics do tend to end up blurry. I am shooting at 12 times optical zoom with Image Stabilizer on but still all that moving around doesn't help me get that many fab pics. It's not easy to frame a perfect shot everytime. So sometimes some contestanst will get more than others, especially the ones that stand pretty still.
The most fidgety of the lot is Dennis. LOL!!! He never stands still long enuff.
Juliana is also difficult to shoot as she moves her arms around a lot. Most of her face shots are great but all her arms will be like hummingbirds in flight.
