Malaysia¡¦s First Dance Reality Show Takes Center Stage
Petaling Jaya, 2nd April 2007 ¡V Long awaited Malaysia¡¦s first dance reality show ¡V So You Think You can Dance will premier on this Thursday, April 5th at 9.30pm on 8TV.
8TV General manager of Business Development, Marketing & Communications, Ms Lam Swee Kim explains, ¡§True to its premise, this dance talent quest among Malaysian hopefuls who wish for a shot at stardom. We are thrilled with the response we had during our 2-day open casting on 16th & 17th march at Panggung Bandaraya, KL.
¡§We are confident that these selected hopefuls will be able to bring their creativity and talents to the stage as we will do our best to help their potential shine through. Now is the time for the to start thinking about the competition seriously because in the coming months, some will collapse under pressure, others will reveal their two feet and only one will dance his or her way into our hearts.¡¨
Kim is confident that the localized version will be able to discover the BEST dancers in Malaysia.
Weekly episodes will feature LIVE performances and eliminations of contestants that will be determined by judges and SMS voting from the audience. There will be a total of 14 episodes for this season, including the grand finale LIVE episode.
The show will feature the petite but mighty talented, Juliana Ibrahim as the host.
The contestants¡¦ fates lie in the hands of the show¡¦s distinguished panel of judges: Pat Ibrahim, Ramli Ibrahim, Judimar Hernandez and Yannus Sufandi.
Tranz by Poh Kong is the official partner and has graciously extended their support towards discovering local dance talents.
The series is executive produced and directed by Sunil Kumar, who was also involved with the network¡¦s 2006 groundbreaking hit ¡V One In A Million.
For those who couldn¡¦t get enough of the show or incidentally missed the weekly episodes, 8Tv will be airing an encore presentation every Monday, 10am, beginning 9th April.
