COVID-19 Status Update & Cluster Report (24/11/2020)
A record-breaking 2,188 new COVID19 cases were reported today along with 1,673 recoveries, leaving 14,353 patients still receiving treatment. Of these 112 are in ICU with 49 on ventilators. A total of 44,153 have recovered thus far, Unfortunately, 4 more deaths have been reported today, taking the total fatalities to 341. Rentak Sejuta extends our deepest condolences to the bereaved.
A record 1,623 new cases were reported in Selangor, mostly from the Teratai Cluster (1,511 new cases) involving workers from the Top Glove factories in Klang, out of the total 1,537 for the district. Meanwhile, 90 new cases were reported in Kuala Lumpur with 105 recoveries, with zero cases and 3 recoveries in Putrajaya. 69 of the new cases in Kuala Lumpur were from the Bintang Cluster.
On a positive note, new cases in Sabah continue to drop. 232 were reported today with 833 recoveries announced. Just 1 case was reported in Labuan with 5 recoveries, while Sarawak also saw 1 new case but had 10 recoveries today.
Up North, Perak climbed to 112 new cases, all from existing clusters, today but announced only 7 recoveries, while Kedah and Penang reported 14 and 15 new cases respectively. Kedah saw 45 recoveries while their neighbours Penang discharged 15. No new cases in Perlis today but one recovery was announced.
Negeri Sembilan continued to yo-yo with 73 new cases but 143 made recoveries today. Johore saw 19 new cases with 10 recoveries while saw 2 new cases with 4 recoveries.
Kelantan reported 6 new cases with 4 discharged. Both Terengganu and Pahang remained with no new cases.
No new clusters were reported today.
The cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia now stands at 58,487.
