Fourteen new COVID-19 cases reported today. 1 from a permanent resident returning from The Philippines, while the other cases were locally transmitted. 2 cases were recorded in Sabah and 11 arose from the Sivaganga Cluster which was formed after an expatriate owner of a Kedah restaurant who broke home quarantine to visit his outlet became the index case earlier this week. The 11 are second generation cases that were reported today. The cluster has grown to 20 active cases in total as of today.
Seventeen cases were released today, leaving the number of active cases currently being treated at 210, with 2 in ICU and 1 on a ventilator. No new deaths were reported today, leaving the cumulative fatalities at 125.
The total number of cumulative COVID-19 cases stands at 8,999, with 8,664 cases having already been discharged thus far.
