COVID-19 Status Update (12.00 pm, 15/6/2020)SINGLE DIGIT CASES AMONG CITIZENS AUGURS WELL FOR NATION DURING RECOVERY PHASE Story: Dragon Visuals: Kementerian Kesihatan MalaysiaOf the 41 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 38 were locally transmitted while 3 were imported cases from citizens residing in Johore who had returned home from Singapore. 32 of the locally transmitted cases involve foreigners while 6 are citizens. The local cases include an inmate of an old folks home cluster in Kuala Selangor, 2 cases involving Tahfiz schools - one each in Melaka & Negeri Sembilan, and 3 close contact cases - one each in Selangor, Melaka and Sabah. The cases involving foreigners include 14 detainees who were being held at the Malaysian Immigration Academy in Port Dickson after being transferred from the Immigration Detention Depot (DTI) in Bukit Jalil, 15 from the chicken factory cluster in Pedas, Negeri Sembilan, 2 from the cleaning company cluster from Selangor & Negeri Sembilan and another who was sent for testing from another cleaning company in Kuala Lumpur. With the new cases added, the total number of cumulative cases is at 8,494. 54 more patients were discharged within the last 24 hours, bringing down the number of active cases in hospitals to 973, with 4 in ICU and none on respirators.
