COVID-19 Status Update (4.00 pm, 6/5/2020)COVID-19 AMONG LOCAL POPULATION DECLINES DESPITE SPIKES IN NEW POSITIVESStory: Dragon Visuals: Kementerian Kesihatan MalaysiaWith 45 new #Covid19 cases reported and 135 being charged yesterday, the total number of active cases have been reduced to 1,619 (73.15% of cumulative cases) of which 22 are on ICU and 9 are on respirators. Only one new positive case was found among those returning to Malaysia. Most of the cases reported were among migrant worker as the crackdown continues on targeted areas. Kuala Lumpur peaked among the states at 22 new cases while Sarawak and Selangor registered 11 and 8 cases respectively. There were 2 cases in Negeri Sembilan and 1 in Melaka, with no other states reporting any new cases. Unfortunately, the nation bore witness to another fatality taking the cumulative deaths to 107 (1.66% of cumulative cases). The deceased was a 51-year-old male with diabetes, hypertension and kidney disease and was being treated for COVID-19 at the Sg Buloh Hospital. Our deepest condolences to the bereaved. The total number of cumulative positive cases to date is 6,428. 4,702 have already recovered and have been discharged with no reinfections.
