COVID-19 Status Update Malaysia (30/4/2020)IMPORTED CASES STALLING COVID-19 DOWNTREND AS MORE MALAYSIANS RETURN FROM ABROADStory: Dragon Visuals: Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia / Majlis Keselamatan NegaraFifty-seven new COVID-19 cases were reported today, 32 from local transmissions and 25 from Malaysia travellers returning from abroad. Of the imported cases, 12 had returned from UAE, 6 from Egypt, 3 from Singapore, 2 from Norway and 1 each from Indonesia and UK. The new cases pushed Malaysia's positive COVID-19 cumulative cases past the 6K mark to register 6002 in total. 84 cases we discharged today leaving 1,729 cases still being treated in hospital, with 36 in ICU and 14 on respirators. A total of 27 (14 local transmision/13 imported) new cases were reported involving residents of Selangor, 11 ( 4 - LT/ 7 - I) from Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya, 5 (LT) from Negeri Sembilan, 5 (3 - LT/ 2 - I) from Melaka, 5 (LT) from Sarawak, 3 (I) from Johore and 1 (LT) from Pahang. Sadly 2 more deaths were recorded today involving a 64-year-old man being treated at the Hospital Tengku Ampuan Hafzan in Kuantan, Pahang and a 72-year-old man who was being treated at the Hospital Umum Sarawak in Kuching, taking the cumulative deaths to 102. The former was inflicted with blood cancer while the later had hypertension. Our sincerest condolences to their respective families.
