SalamMusik "O" Album Launch & Showcase @ The Bee, Publika, Solaris Dutamas, KL (10/1/13)
THE CIRCLE OF LIFE COMES ALIVE WITH SALAMMUSIK

Vocal trio Eyza Bahra, Tip and Salam keeping it real on stage.
I am writing this while SalamMusik's sophomore effort "O" is playing in the background, and our publisher Anastasia who is sitting at her work desk is bobbing her head in a matching rhythmic pattern to the poetic tunes emanating from the speakers. The album title "O" according to dreadlocked band leader Salam symbolizes the circle of life; its continuity and unity that encompasses the cycle of life. A circle that certainly comes alive when you listen to their music. This was clearly evident at their album launch showcase, which saw a capacity crowd being invigorated by the talented multi instrument band at The Bee in Solaris Dutamas, last night.
With two Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM) awards under their belt - one for Best Hip Hop Song (with DJ Fuzz & Malique for Cerita Kedai Kopi) in 2011 and Album Of The Year in 2012 for their debut effort - the industrious band which Rentak Sejuta recently announced as our Artiste Of The Year (jointly with metalcore outfit Massacre Conspiracy) has progressed quite rapidly since their inception in 2010. Before we can even put away their exciting and fresh debut effort, their second salvo has already been thrust into our hands, all ready to bombard our senses and purge out all the commercial crud that has been lingering in our heads for far too long, even more. Listening to SalamMusik is akin to going to the spa - a spa for the mind. The new album which is filled with 12 brand new tracks features collaborations with top engineers and musicians; including the likes of Altimet, Sayla, Pita Hati, DJ Fuzz, Ziondread (Curacao), Bouchra (The Netherlands) among others, and touches on topics that are close to the heart.
