Smart Event Marketing, the organisers and franchise holders of the Miss Malaysia Kebaya (MMK) pageant brand, are continuing their valiant efforts to further promote cultural based beauty pageants nationwide, regionally and also internationally with the launch of the inaugural Miss Cipao Malaysia (MCM) 2013 beauty pageant which focuses on the popular traditional Chinese attire - the cipao or more familiarly known to most Malaysians as the cheongsam.
According to MMK & MCM's founder and President Mr Jason Hee, after their recent successful run of the Miss Malaysia Kebaya 2012 pageant which yielded a string of intelligent, talented and beautiful kebaya queens throughout the nation, it was only natural to unearth even more quality talent under the cultural umbrella, thus the creation of this new platform - the Miss Cipao Malaysia 2013, followed by more pageant platforms that will highlight all other Malaysian cultures, in the coming year.
Addressing the members of the media and other invited guests which included a string of beauty queens, celebrities and key sponsors at a press conference held at the Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe in Sunway Pyramid, yesterday afternoon, Jason added that the search for Miss Cipao Malaysia had already begun and has already yielded at least 40 contestant who have made the first cut, with more to come. Only between 12 and 18 qualifiers will make the cut to the finals which is expected to be in around 45 days.
