Rock The World Festival 2012 @ Padang Merbok, KL (29/12/12)
DOWN TO EARTH ...LITERALLY, AT RTW 2012

Salam Musik educating the audience on why they deserved the Best Album win at AIM this year.
It was as organic as it could get at the twelfth incarnation of Rock The World this year, as 46 acts literally got down and dirty with their fans throughout the iconic twelve hour long festival, which ploughed through three stages at a damp and heavy Padang Merbok, yesterday. Concert goers had to trudge ever so gingerly from stage to stage, dodging sinking ground and mud traps along the way (which was reminiscent of a milder version of the the world famous Glastonburry grounds) to catch their favourite indie stars turn the festival into an intense musical battleground. Despite the muddy mess, the damp field did not dampen anyone's spirits, and instead added an even more fun element to the proceedings, as fans got a little earthy themselves as they frolicked in the dirt. Even many of the members from the legion of rock stars who were performing there were seen happily skipping along bare feet in the smooth mud, and by the time the concert ended, no one was spared, as every pair of feet at the festival had a lovely glaze coating of earth, following them back.
The down to earth Rock The World Festival series which is organised by promoters Fat Boys Records, and presented by Tune Talk this year, has once again proven that you can run a successful music festival in Malaysia entirely made up of local indie acts, and continues to provide the opportunity for established acts to strengthen their following while giving upcoming acts a platform to showcase their talents to eager audiences. All this at an affordable RM30, which works out to just RM0.65 to catch each band live on stage. Simply amazing value for local music fans. Despite the fractionally lower turnout than previous years, Rock The World is still the nation's most premier locals only festival brand, and will continue to be a significant resource for local indie acts and their fans.
Myo of Oh Chentaku getting some airtime at the Noisy Stage.
Moots of Pop Shuvit was up for grabs at the Main Stage.
Full story & complete photos coming up.
