Spector Live In Malaysia Showcase @ Stage, Kuala Lumpur (6/10/12)TOP SHOW BY UPCOMING UK INDIE OUTFITStory & Photos: Dragon & AnastasiaAn animated Frederick Macpherson strutting his high street stylings across the Stage. Its always a pleasure catching upcoming international bands live in an intimate setting, especially if they turn out to be a top quality act. That is how it was when newly minted UK indie outfit Spector made their Malaysian debut at Stage KL, last night, at a packed showcase that was presented by leading UK high street fashion brand Topshop and Universal Music Malaysia. The dapper five piece band composed of resilient bespectacled vocalist Frederick Macpherson, guitarists Christopher Burman, bassist Thomas Shickle, guitarist and synth programmer Jed Cullen and drummer Danny Blandy, who were in Kuala Lumpur to promote their pumping debut album "Enjoy It While It Lasts", made a lasting impression on their local fans, with a vibrant showing that oozed with distinctly British charm and style. Their pulsating early two thousand flavoured rock and roll, which is akin to The Strokes, The Killers (and as this writer feels, The Proclaimers), unfortunately came to an end way too soon, to the disappointment of the pumped up crowd who were enjoying every delicious moment of their eight song set. We guess most of them will have to be satisfied with watching their tablets and smartphone recordings, until the UK charting band returns for a full concert, hopefully soon enough.
