So its finally confirmed.




The second edition of our Inter Forum Futsal Tournament has been confirmed as follows:

Date: 11th February 2007 (Sunday)
Time: 9.00am - 3.00pm
Venue: Sports Planet Ampang

At this point of time the following teams have been invited to participate (names in bracket are team managers):

Just for starters, here are some core rules for the participation:


Core Rules (Teams):

1.This tournament is open strictly to registered members of their respective forums or fan clubs.

2.No team is allowed to field any professional, semi-professional or amateur league futsal players in the tournament. This includes all futsal coaches/trainers and state/national level players as well. Teams will be immediately disqualified from the tournament if it is discovered that such players have been fielded in their teams. This is to ensure fair play among all teams and to avoid giving any specific team an upper hand.

3.Each team must be represented by 5 players on the pitch and must field a minimum of 2 female players during any period in an ongoing match. Each team may comprise up to 15 pre-registered players. Only pre-registered players can be fielded once the tournament commences.

4.Each team is allowed unlimited substitutions during match play, but must maintain a minimum of 2 female players on the pitch throughout the game.

5.The minimum age for a player is 15 as of tournament date.

6.The eligibility of a player will be determined by the umpiring committee. Any objections regarding any player can be forwarded to them, and all decisions made upon that will be final.

7.All players must be attired in similar team colours for their respective teams. Team colours must be requested in advance to avoid color clashes. Some teams may be requested to have 2 sets of colours at the discretion of the organizing committee. This alternate color may be black or white. The following colours have been already pre-assigned. Alternate colors are in brackets:

8.The entry fee for each team is RM 120.00 payable one week (7 days) in advance from the tournament date.

THE DRAW

The first round will have 3 groups with 4 teams per group. Each group will comprise of 2 returning teams & 2 new teams. Matches will be played round robin, and the team with the highest points in their group will be advancing. The best runnerup of the 3 runner ups in the group stages will also advance.

The actual grouping draw will be done half an hour before kickoff on match day. The will be 2 sets to be drawn. One for returning teams and one for new teams. Groups will be classified as groups A, B & C.

2 teams will be drawn from the returning pot and placed in Group A.
2 teams will be drawn from the returning pot and placed in Group B.
2 teams will be drawn from the returning pot and placed in Group C.

2 teams will be drawn from the new pot and placed in Group A.
2 teams will be drawn from the new pot and placed in Group B.
2 teams will be drawn from the new pot and placed in Group C.

The Returning Teams:
Jacsville, Pinkies, MyNita, Blue Hyppo, Farahnatics, PMF

The New Teams:
Rockensteiners, Supersukis, Orange Family, Locomaniacs, Pow Pow, Rentak Sejuta


Round 2 will be the semifinals. The 3 group winners and the best runner up will meet in the semifinals. A draw will be made to see which team will face each other, with one exception, the runner up will not play its own group winner.

The winners of the semifinals will play each other in the finals.

About The 2nd Inter Forum Futsal Tournament (2007)

The tournament is the continuation of the series established in 2005. The tournament was established to foster friendship & fanship, to promote healthy lifestyles and to impart positive values, as well as giving the fans a chance to be up close with their idols. It was an event where all races of all ages from various backgrounds could come together in a spirit of closeness and solidarity, and just have plain wholesome fun.

The 1st Inter Forum Futsal Tournament was a resounding success where 8 teams from various fan clubs and forums, related to the Malaysian Idol (MI) program, challenged for honours, in a one day event. Teams then, included Jacsville (the organizer of the event), Pinkies, Blue Hyppo, Kreees.com, Rojak Rangers, Farahnatics, MyNita and The Paul Moss Forum. The event was eventually worn by a scratch team made up of members from various fan clubs that were representing Kreees.com (the most popular but unofficial MI forum). This victory by kreees.com was even sweeter as it was considered a victory for all fans, as most of the fan clubs had their roots in kreees.com. But most importantly the tournament met its objective to create an environment of kinship regardless of everyone¡¦s background or affiliations.

This year, it is hoped that the tournament will be an even bigger success, especially with the expansion to include fan clubs related to the new 8TV reality talent show ¡§One In A Million¡¨ (OIAM). 12 teams will be competing for honours this time around and will include newbies, such as, Supersukis, Rockensteiners, Locomaniacs, Orange Family, 8TV itself and new music media site & co-organiser Rentak Sejuta. Popular reality show personalities such as Jaclyn Victor, Nita, Alif Satar, Faizal Tahir, Lokman, Farah, Paul Moss, Daniel and Suki are expected to roll up their socks and ¡§turun ke padang¡¨ along with their biggest fans. Old rivalries as well as new ones are expected to surface, as teams battle it out for glory more than prizes. Word has it that Daniel¡¦s dad has even instructed the Pinkies to go all out and bring the trophy home. And it¡¦s understood that heavyweights such as Jacsville, Paul Moss¡¦ Forum & My Nita are not going to allow that to happen. Even newbies Supersukis & Rockensteiners, are not planning to sit down and take those taunts lightly. But don¡¦t be surprised if minnows such as Farahnatics, Lokomaniacs or Orange Family steal it from right under everyone¡¦s noses. It¡¦s going to be a sizzling event and is expected to be full of surprises for those who turn up, whether to play, support or just hang out.

Important pointers to note:

1.If you are arriving by bus, the best place to get down is in front of Ampang POINT Shopping Centre (this is NOT Ampang PARK). From here it is a reasonably short walk (about 5-6 minutes) to the venue which is also known as Kompleks Sukan Ampang.

2.If you are arriving by car/taxi from KL City, turn left at the traffic lights immediately after Ampang Point, then turn right at the end of the road followed by another right turn at the next right junction.

3.There is ample parking available at the venue, but please arrive early as there will be a sizeable crowd there on that day.

4.Drinks and ice-cream are available at the venue at normal prices, but they do not serve any food. The nearest place to get any food would be at the Ampang Point area. So please come prepared with a packed breakfast/lunch, or else you will be starving for sure. Make sure you have your breakfast at least an hour before matches are played.

5.Our matches will be played on pitches 7 & 8, which are located on the far right as you enter.

6.Seats are limited at Pitch 8, so please grab as many chairs as possible from the reception area and relocate them there. Pitch 7 has the standard futsal bench for limited seating, as well. So, please note that a lot of you may be just sitting on the floor, so please dress comfortably. The resourceful ones can bring your own portable seats.

7.The venue may get a little warm, so please ensure you have enough liquids to keep you cool and hydrated. Isotonic drinks are highly recommended.















Public Transport

1.Plenty of buses heading from KL City & KLCC to Ampang Point. Buses that are heading back to town past Ampang Point also run from the main road outside the Ampang Star LRT Station. Just in case you are little confused, Ampang Point is between KLCC and Ampang Star LRT Station, along Jalan Ampang.

2.Rapid KL T22 runs from KLCC to Ampang Point as well as from Ampang Star LRT Station. The fare is RM 2 (unlimited rides).

3.Metrobus 28 (plus a few other numbers) also services this route both ways. Metrobus is also available from KL Town Centre (behind Kotaraya along one of the lanes off Jalan Silang) to Ampang Point. Just ask around. Most of the buses going to anywhere in Ampang will pass Ampang Point. The fare from KL Town is RM 1.50 (one way) & RM 0.90 (one way) from KLCC. From Ampang Star LRT Station, it is RM 0.90 (one way).

4.For those who are using multiple transfers (bus/LRT) to get there, it¡¦s best you purchase the RM 7 ¡§Sepadu¡¨ ticket which can be used on all Rapid KL buses and both LRT lines (Star/Putra) for unlimited rides. Saves you a lot of money for those who are coming from afar, but make sure you don¡¦t loose your ticket. Just ¡§flash¡¨ and ride.

5.If you are taking the bus from KLCC, the best place to wait is at the bus stop in front of the Meritz sales office next to Avenue K (opposite KLCC). Both Rapid KL T22 and Metrobus 28 (and others) will pass here. There is also a 3rd choice of SJ buses from here, but you have to find out which ones will pass Ampang Point.

Team Placement Draw will be held at 9.15am.

All teams must submit their complete team list by 9.30am. No late additions or replacements will be entertained.

Referees: Dragon, Milo, Ostro (and all team managers).
(Referees are allowed to play for their respective teams but can only referee matches for groups in which their teams are not involved in during the group stages. They are however not allowed to referee any matches at the semifinals & final if their teams are involved at these stages.)

Any rule amendments or exceptions are at the sole discretion of the organising committee.

Teams must be on the pitch 5 minutes before kickoff. Please be on time for your matches. Failing to do so will result in the match being awarded to the opponent team with a 3 goal advantage.

Duration per match: 15 minutes.
