Wondering how to get those video clips that are streamed in YouTube onto your PC?
As you all know that you cannot download the clips directly from YouTube as it is only available as streaming video there. But there is a work around to this. (Please note that YouTube clips are streamed in the FLV (Flash Video) format, natively)
Just follow these simple steps and you should be able to get your favourite YouTube clips onto your PCs.
Method 1
1. Select the clip you want at YouTube.
2. Copy the URL link of the clip from About The Video panel next to the viewing window.
3. Go to www.keepvid.com
4. Paste the copied URL link into the text box and click on the "Download" button.
5. A link will be generated immediately in the Download panel below the textbox, with the link called "Download Link". Click on this link.
6. Follow any resulting downloading instructions and the the clip will be downloaded to your PC.
7. The clip will be in the FLV format and can only be viewed on a FLV Player.
8. You can download a FLV Player from KeepVid.
9. Alternately you can convert the clip to AVI with a FLV-AVI Converter.
10. You can download "Mediacoder" which will do the job from mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
Method 2
1. You can also download YouTube Downloader 2.11 from youtube-d.com. Just follow the instructions there to download.
2. Download & install the program on your PC.
3. Start up the YouTube Downloader.
4. Select the clip you want at YouTube.
5. Copy the URL link of the clip from About The Video panel next to the viewing window.
6. Paste the URL link into the "Link" textbox, and select the folder you want to save it to in the "Save To" textbox. Also select the format you want to save to. If it is a video save it to AVI.
7. Click the start button and the clip will be converted and saved to an AVI file on your PC, which you can view with most media players.
Hope the solutions above will get you the clips you want. If you have problems drop us a note here and we will try and answer your queiries.
