Showdown Top 10 (Episode 9) @ KL Live (26/5/10)
SHOWDOWN NO LONGER "FEASIBLE" FOR SARAWAK HOPEFULS
FAMOUS CREW & SOUL KRAZY GET A REALITY CHECK AFTER ENDING UP IN THE BOTTOM 4
Story: Anastasia Photos: Dragon
A few surprises in the bottom four.
It was inevitable. Their time was up and even they knew it. So it was no real surprise to see Feasible Crew from Sarawak ending up in the bottom four and leaving the show this week. After all, they have not been really bringing their A game on over the weeks and were obviously lagging behind most of the KL crews. However, what was surprising was that they actually out-battled Famous Crew in the 3 given minutes, but were unceremoniously & unfairly declared losers, by the judges. No doubt, Famous Crew have a reputation of being great battlers, but they certainly did not showcase much of their battle skills in the bottom four showdown, but were still declared winners, and its Rentak Sejuta's and many of the dance fans' (we spoke to) opinions, that the judges let Famous Crew off, simply based on that reputation, than the actual battle.
It was the same case for the showdown between Soul Krazy & Borneo Soul Breakerz, where Soul Krazy were declared winners even though they did not offer much of a real fight (although we know they are capable of it). Technically BSB were the better battlers during the showdown but unfortunately lost to Soul Krazy, more on the latter's reputation rather than actual skills during those 3 minutes. Once again judges picked based on past performances rather than what actually went down on the stage at that point of time.
For this, the esteemed judges have sinfully erred.
Of the four crews, it has been quite apparent over the weeks that Feasible is the weakest among them, but they still should have been judged fairly based on what they did at the battle. As such they should not have been up for elimination, and in all fairness it should have been Soul Krazy & Famous Crew who should have been facing the axe, last night.
At the post event press conference, a smiling Feasible Crew were magnanimous enough to accept the outcome and felt that they had a long way to go before they can match the standards of the KL based crews, and may soon be plying their trade here, in order to improve their game and raise their standards.
