LeeKumKee, I'm not sure whether the judges CHOSE the ppl they already knew, but seems like a MISTAKE that the judges didnt choose you for YOU seems to be able to make MALAYSIA PROUD and by having same or perhaps higher standards than SYTYCD US.. Btw, you got yourself the rite nick, for LKK sauce is made to spice up flavours.. in this case, you're indeed the Rentak Saucer!

But before this, you have just POSTED some statements to CONDEMN the production and the contestants.. That's not cool~ We do understand that we need to give BAD comments to them as well in order for them to improve their skills and personality.. This is very true~ BUt I never seen that u have given any of USEFUL comments to the contestants before this.. So now, u are learning..
As for ur comments, I hv no comment.. Sekian terima kasih..

somethings are meant to be compared apple to apple, some are just not that easy.
comparing SYTYCD US and UK to SYTYCD Msia is very unfair. you can always check marvelous's postings for details on the finalist's (top 20) dance background in SYTYCD US or UK. maybe from there you can see (or understand) why our dancers are as not at the same par as what the US and the UK had.
to fully understand the level of our dancers, i think it's fair for us to look back and study what kind of market we have here in Malaysia when it comes to dancing. is there any demand in the first place? any supply? who's paying and who gets paid? so lets have a look what we have in Malaysia before we make any judgement.
in the US and the UK, dancing can be considered as 'proper' job to earn living. whereas here in Malaysia, dancing is rarely viewed as a profession and can hardly be taken seriously by the society (in general). dancing in Malaysia always being interpreted as small shows in annual dinners, lame opening ceremony shows, pedestrian backup dancers, closed-level competitions or reserved dance performances.
of couse you can be a fulltime dancer if you're working with Badan Kebudayaan Sarawak or DBKL (for e.g.)... always bear in mind that those bodies form part of the goverment, claiming certain slice of monetary allocations in that big public sector pie. they have the allocations & posts for dancers in certain departments, so yes, you can be a fulltime dancer and get paycheque every month without fail in you're employed with the government.
but how about private sector? i know about various dance companies around, in KL, Penang, JB; but do they pay their dancers monthly? i doubt it. dancing is more or less like singing. if there's a show, there'll be money. no show, no money. simple as that. what kind of shows these companies can provide if there are no willing audiences paying for the tickets? we certainly don't feel anything when we pay hundreds for Pussycat Dolls' concert but many will be sceptical to pay mere RM20.00 for a good two-hour show by Akedemi Seni Kebangsaan (ASK). who can blame us? we never know what ASK can do and what we're gonna get for that RM20.00 show, but we certainly know what's in store if we go to that Pussycat Dolls' concert.
apart from shows, dance companies or academies also rely on teaching dance classes. we can see the rapid growth of dance studios in major cities in Malaysia and many has accepted dancing as means of execising while letting their hair down at the same time. this is a good sign, but still not sufficient to produce best dancers.
adding to the above, dancing is sadly perceived a taboo and remains unwelcome in certain parts of state here in Malaysia. in fact, some of the constestants openly admitting of having unsupportive family members just because they (the contestant) choose to dance professionally.
dancing is still not well accepted as a 'serious proffesion' here. as long as this is the case, i don't think we can have a healthy competition in this particular industry. for me, competition is the key. without competition, we will remain in our comfort zone forever. we will only strive our best in competitions. only with competitions we can have best dancers. what i mean here is not competitions like SYTYCD, but more to surviving the industry and taking dancing one step ahead by acknowledging it as a no-nonsense profession.
survivor of the fittest. only the best can ride the tide and rock all day & all night. it's hard to be the best when there are no competitions around you.
what we have here in SYTYCD Malaysia may not be the best to you. but since they can do most of the stunts i can never imagine any Malaysian dancers could ever do, yeah, i gotta say that they are among the best dancers we have here in Malaysia! not the best in world, but among the best in Malaysia.

Ok Leekumkee! I agree with you on certain things! It's true that Yes Firul and Yuz has worked with the Judges eg Pat,Ramli,Judy, and they still there,or haven't touch bottom 4 because of that! correct for that fairness! I believe they also know Jo and Sue they also know them very well. I think it's best someone like Yannus and Manuela, someone from overseas and no connections with the contestants at all and judging it fair and square! Ok leekumkee, if u don't think it's good enough dancers in the show! Name me/us a few Male/Female Dancers that you know and deserves to be in the Show? !!! Give us some names!

ok la.... you wan matured comments ah... ok lahh.. i try la matured ke cenggitu? well, to be really honest i was really looking forward for this competition cus i have watched the US version and to my greatest disappointment i found a substandard show instead of a national competition u the only one who watched th US show ah? blah la you... ;D poorly planned auditions, poorly organized audience mechanics.. yg ni i setuju!!! i know all of you at this forum are so supportive of this show but i believe good critics will improve the quality of things. telling people that they are SO GOOD when they are in fact not really that impresssive willl not challenge them to be better. i have been at the auditions (taking notes not participating), at everyshow in ruums kl and watched at home 10am on mondays. i;m like a really disappointed fan of the show... so forgive me for the crude comments. i mean , come on la people. OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK AT THE TOP 20. yes they are good dancers but aiyo, they are not even close to be the best. if you send anyone of them out for international dance competition , we will all be put to shame. eh halooo!!! you cannot compare them with US dancers lah... aiyooo, even Yannus cannot dance like them lahhh (no offence Handsome)... ni ke ke'mature'an you? u memang layak komen pasal sauce je lah...

Thanks again to MJ.. I always enjoy reading ur comments.. It's really fruitful~ This one.. I definitely enjoy reading all the FACTS that you have pointed out.. And so agree with you.. Anyway, I think sometimes ppl just do not really get to appreciate of what Malaysia has so far with our limitation no matter in background or other reasons.. Just need to get more exposure on this ourselves in order to understand and learn more about it..
Again.. Good comment and thanks! ;D

Yeah cmon LEEKUMKEE, give us some names???!!!! and some info details about them!!! Ha ha ha Waterlily Yannus can do what they do, I've seen him,he's well respected, he has worked with those pro working dancers, and he's friends with them also the big Choreographers! Yes he's not a Full on Ballet/Jazz Dancer Like Travis etc,and do 10 Pirouetes! So he can't do what Travis or Nick Lazarini they way they dance! Not everyone is Travis or Nick right?? also who does(10 turns with so much technique) in Music Video or Tours/Performances Nowdays??!! This is allready amazing for Malaysians to perform a BELIEVABLE different Dance Styles that they get to learn for 3 days(Not easy for any Profesional dancer)!!! R U KIDDING ME! that they no GOOD!! Who are u fooling LEEKUMKEE??!!! They doing Fantastic Job to do all those different styles!! Keep it up TOP 12!
