A beaming Sharmaine Rose Magdasoc from The Philippines was crowned the very first Miss Fashion World, at the pageant's coronation which was held at The Palace of Golden Horses in Kuala Lumpur, last night.
She beat eleven other equally credible finalists to secure the sought after title, crown, sash, scepter, bouquet, RM 10,000 in cash,an Akero product hamper and various other items for a grand total of RM 100,000 in cash and prizes.
Coming in the runner's up spot was Debby Gomeren from Belgium, while the second runner's up spot went to Isabella Worlock from the UK. Both received prizes worth RM 30,000 and RM 20,000 respectively. Placing fourth and fifth were Kayla Lily from England and Louvis Wong from Borneo.
The tough decisions were made by a panel of esteemed judges that included YM Tengku Datin Nurzaheran Tengku Hisham, Organising Chairman Winni Lai, International Couturier Gina Frias, Supermodel & Modelling Entrepreneur Amber Chia and Co-founder of Fashion World Isabelle Liow PJK.
The inaugural pageant with an emphasis on international fashion was organised by Koperasi Usahawan Umatrin Bhd and co-organised by BSG Event Production. It was presented by Aker and supported by Tourism Malaysia.The key fashion sponsors to the pageant were Gina Frias London, Mont Rena, Evon Rossa and Luxx Grand Couture, with Lim Lok Wing University of Creative Technology as a creative strategic partner.
