Amirul Fahd, a 21 year old chemical engineering student from Putrajaya, was crowned Man of the Year Malaysia 2018, at the male pageant's Grand Finals which was held at the Intekma Resort & Convention Centre in Shah Alam last night. The lean, towering and dashing young winner will represent Malaysia in the world finals which will be held in Thailand, later this year.
In a unique world first, Amirul was crowned with a majestic embroidered grey and gold "Dendam Tak Sudah" styled Tengkolok, a traditional Malay headgear, this one originating from Negeri Sembilan. The classy headgear was sponsored by AG Invictus 2018.
Symbollically, the "Dendam Tak Sudah" headgear represents the undying spirit of struggle and responsibility for the nation by a warrior or king.
Joining him on the podium in the second spot was manly Human Resources advisor Kanishka Reddy from Kuala Lumpur who also won the Most Masculine subsidiary title, while hunky Yuvaraj Ragenden, a Veterinary Services Department enforcement officer from Manjung, Perak was third, both aged 25. In fourth and fifth were 26 year old actor and businessman Syafik Anuar from Selangor and 28 year old online entrepreneur Mohammad Ikmar from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, respectively.
The Malaysian finals saw 12 finalists from the peninsular and Borneo vying for the main and various subsidiary titles.
