Asia's leading dry cleaning company, Pressto, officially launched their very first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Campaign programme in Malaysia, with the Kiwanis Club of Klang, to encourage the donation of pre-loved soft toys for children with Down Syndrome. Collected soft toys will be professionally cleaned by the conscientious, responsible and environmentally friendly dry cleaner before being passed on to Kiwanis. Soft toys are difficult to clean properly due to their inner filling, and if not dried thoroughly, mildew can breed inside, and will be unhealthy for children. Pressto is hoping that the public will generously come forward and contribute in the sharing of cuddles to these young souls, and also will be inspired to practice the culture of recycling, via a charitable cause. In return for every soft toy donated, Pressto will provide a 50% discount voucher on your next soft toy cleaning bill.
The well attended "Donate Your Soft Toys To Kiwanis Down Syndrome" campaign launch and press conference was held at Pressto Asia's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, yesterday afternoon. The ongoing campaign will carry on for 6 months, with all Pressto outlets in Malaysia appointed as collection points. The event was officiated by Klang Kiwanis Club president Amanda Russell and Pressto Asia's CEO Phyllis Lai, and moderated by Mrs Borneo World 2015/2016 June Yap and Miss Shine From Within 2017 Kristin Kan. Speaking about the campaign, Amanda explained "We are always very thankful for project collaborations, but going further to involve the public is especially meaningful to us." She further added. "we are grateful and appreciative of your kind donations, and with Pressto's numerous outlets, we are confident it will be convenient for you to drop off your toys." Chipping in, Phyllis explained, "we wish to contribute to our local community in any small way that we can. By collecting and cleaning the soft toys properly, we also aim to present your contributions to the children in a respectful and dignified way."
Pressto and Kiwanis Club of Klang, also aim to build awareness about good parenting, with parents becoming their children's role models in the act of giving, and by fostering this simple act of sharing, children will be accustomed to sharing.
With presence in 5 continents, 22 countries and more than 700 outlets, Pressto is widely trusted by industry professionals for its garment handling and for delivering excellent service using the latest dry cleaning and ecological laundering technologies, while Kiwanians are active volunteers committed to making a difference on affecting local communities as well as global issues with emphasis on the well-being of children, amplifying their international motto "Serving the Children of the World".
