Konsert Muzik4Humanity @ Panggung Sari, Istana Budaya, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur (17 & 18/3/17)
When: 8.00pm, Friday & Saturday, 17th & 18, March, 2017
Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) is hosting a benefit concert to raise funds for children affected by conflict who are in need of basic care. The funds will be used as part of global efforts to provide sufficient nutritional food and basic education to the large communities of displaced children in regions of conflict.
Called Muzik4Humanity, the benefit concert will feature well known local artists namely Dato' Khatijah Ibrahim, Dato’ Ramli Sarip, Dato Hattan and Jaclyn Victor who will perform with notable composer Rudi Muhammad.
The benefit concert will be held for a two-nightly performance on 17 & 18 March 2017 at Panggung Sari Istana Budaya Kuala Lumpur.
It is organised in collaboration with MERCY Malaysia where proceeds from the benefit concert will be channelled to MERCY’s Little Caliph programme in Kandahar, Afghanistan that facilitates provision of nutritional food and education for children affected by conflict.
“The benefit concert is aligned with DNeX’s corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) targeted at underprivileged communities especially through educational programmes,” said Datuk Samsul Husin, Executive Deputy Chairman of DNeX.
“Our signature CSR programme - CampBIJAK - that inculcates strong foundation of curiosity and innovativeness with technology and care for the environment has been made available for underprivileged students in Malaysia. With our involvement in Muzik4Humanity, we hope to further extend our CSR reach,” he said.
He added that DNeX is also honoured to be working with MERCY Malaysia, a homegrown non-profit organisation that has achieved global recognition through its efforts in providing medical relief, sustainable health related development and risk reduction activities for vulnerable communities in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
According to DNeX’s Group Managing Director En Zainal Abidin Jalil, through Muzik4Humanity, the company hopes to raise visibility on this human crisis and attract other Malaysian corporate donors to raise funds that support global efforts in providing humanatarian aid to these communities that are victims of conflicts.
“As global citizens, we need to do our small part to alleviate their suffering from this increasingly alarming crisis,” he said.
He added that DNeX through its eMarketplace Global Halal Exchange is also running its Secangkir Susu Halib project where for each ticket sold, DNeX pledges one pack of Susu Halib – nutrient-packed powdered full cream milk for growing children aged 12 months onwards – for one child under MERCY's Little Caliph programme in Afghanistan.
“With the purchase of each ticket, MERCY Malaysia will be able to continue its initiatives to provide early education programmes for the younger generation in Kandahar City, a programme essential to their academic growth. We have been operating in Afghanistan since 2001. However, due to the instability and complexity of the situation on the ground, it
has been difficult to garner support and funding. But we believe that we can keep going, and together with DNeX, we hope to raise awareness of the humanitarian duty we have to countries and communities in difficult times,” said YM Datin Raja Riza Shazmin, Honorary Secretary of MERCY Malaysia.
Artistes Line Up:
Dato' Khatijah Ibrahim
Dato' Ramli Sarip
