Spotlight Series: RVL @ No Black Tie, Jalan Mesui, Off Jalan Nagasari, Kuala Lumpur (1/2/15)

RVL is an Alternative Rock band that was put together since May 2010. The band members consist of Sheikh Eamir (Vocalist), Adam (Guitarist), Tommo (Guitarist), Syam (Bassist) and Zaha (Drummer). Their first single, “Perjuangan” was recorded in November 2010 and successfully have been aired locally through a recognizable radio broadcast, HotFm. RVL has release their second single, in 2012 titled “Kembali”. Interviews have been held by Hot.Fm and Nasi Lemak Kopi ‘O’ for RVL in 2012. On 1st January 2011, Ikhwan interviewed the band members on a radio segment “HotFm,”Kita Punya”. Three months later; in April 2011, RVL were interviewed again by Harian Metro. Publishing an article consisting of the band’s build up and obstacles faced. Alongside that, they were interviewed by a program named “Nasi Lemak Kopi ‘O Exclusive” which was aired on tonton.com in September 2011. After that, a talk show known as “Pop Gen” invited RVL as their guests to discuss the prospects of progressing indie bands. Previous performances from RVL include at venues ranging from Switchblade, KDU College, MMU, Sangria Island Club, Port Dickson, Times Square, Malaysia International fashion week (MIFW), MUST College. Besides performances held at respective sites, RVL are much known for their performances on the breakfast programme on TV9 known as “Nasi Lemak Kopi O”, which is aired weekly. The special broadcast from the channel was featured during their Anniversary Celebration. A recent production brought forward Sheikh Eamir (vocalist) as the main actor for a semi-drama series called “Cinta Stroberi Coklat” directed by Azma Aizal Yusof had been aired on may of 2012. Sheikh Eamir have been invited from a K-POP artiste name “Alexander” from “Ukiss” to be the opening artist for his very first solo showcase live in Malaysia. Early of January 2012, The Revellers lead as the Champion Of Tune Talk “OPEN FOR SIMPLE PLAN BAND ”.
The triumph bestowed the band with the golden sport as the opening act for “SIMPLE PLAN”. The Revellers were chosen by “SIMPLE PLAN” themselves. RVL managed to get the crowd pump out and sing along by doing a covered song of “Adele” ”Rolling In The Deep” and their song “ Perjuangan and Kembali” . A week after the concert, Nasi Lemak kopi ‘O’ called up for interview discussing about their experience of being opening act to Simple Plan and their new single “Kembali”. In march 2012, HELP UNIVERITY invited RVL to be their guess artiste for a competition held in HELP UNIVERSITY. Moving on, In May 2012 RVL had been invited by “AstroFirst” to perform for “HARI BELIA 2012”. In the same month, Malaysian high rated music tv shows “Muzik-Muzik 27” chose RVL to be a part of the competition. In March 2013, The Revellers has been invited to perform for International Youtube star from America “Tiffany Alvord” Lead vocalist of RVL made a duet with Tiffany Alvord . After that concert, RVL had been invited for a gig at MBSSKL and KLPAC. 30 June 2013 they have release new single called “CARAKU CARAMU”. In July 2013, The Lead Vocalist ( Sheikh Eamir ) get invited from organizer in Singapore called JNATION to be the opening act for International Youtube Star “Jason Chen and Clara C” Live in Singapore which was held at Zouk Singapore on the 30 July 2013. The next day, RVL had also opened for “Jason Chen and Clara C” live in Kuala Lumpur which was held at Bentley music. After lots of request from the fans RVL had also opened for number 1 female Youtube star “Megan Nicole”. They manage to get the crowd pumped up. Early this year, RVL had been invited to perform for international Rap Group from Australia Called “The Brothahood”. Recently, RVL had performed for CBN Girls Schools. After that concert, RVL had been invited to perform at Merdekaraya to be the headliner for the day. Right after playing at Merdekaraya RVL had been invited to open for American singer songwriter “BarakahBlueMusic” the event was held at Talent Lounge. In May 2014, Right after that RVL had been performing for International Understanding Day for Seri Hartamas highschool and Bandar Sri Damansara 1. Not just that, they had been invited to play for one of Malaysian larges event “ FestivalBelia”. On September 2014, RVL has joined the “MTV Project Aloft Star” and RVL managed to get the highest votes from that competition with a total votes of 22k. RVL managed to get to the final top 5 of Project Aloft Star. Recently, October 8th RVL opened for Indonesia band called “Debu” it was held at Talent Lounge. Before the end of December 2014, Unitar International University invited RVL to perform for their Prom Night event together with a few Malaysian artist. RVL are now in the middle of making full Album and had released 3 singles in 2014 which are “ I’ll Be Watching You”, “ Free” and “ Tujuh Pelangi”. New single will be release this February called “ Remember Me”.
