KULFEST 2014 @ Lanai Seni, MaTiC, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur (25 - 27/12/14)
When: 2.00pm - 2.00am, Thursday - Saturday, 25th, 26th & 27th December, 2014
Jointly organized by Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia of Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya Office, KULFEST is the first Kuala Lumpur’s biggest creative marketplace curated by two event organizers Switchblade Kuala Lumpur and PintuMerah that brought Art of Speed Asia and Kuala Lumpur Vintage festival respectively. Both events had recorded both domestic and international turnouts.
KULFEST will be featuring Malaysia’s own homegrown talents in art, fashion, culinary and such. There will also be pop-up art installations, open mic comic stand, live music and other activities. Sellers at the marketplace will be activating their year-end sale promos and food sampling by food truck operators at the event.
Estimated around 200 entrepreneurs including F & B artisans, handicrafts, leatherwork artists and vintage aficionados were invited to participate in this event and targeting 20,000 visitors to visit and purchase.
According to Zain Azrai bin Rashid, Director of Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia of Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur/Putrajaya Office, Malaysia Year of Festival 2015 (MyFest 2015) will be a follow-up major campaign after Visit Malaysia Year 2014 campaign in promoting tourism arrivals to Malaysia. Malaysia is targeting to receive 29.4 million tourists arrival and RM89 billion in tourist receipts for MyFest2015. This will be a continuation of the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 and it is aimed at creating awareness among Malaysians and foreign visitors on the various festivals in the country. KULFEST is one of the events planned in the itinerary to support this campaign.
