Skechers Sundown Festival 2014 @ Marina Promenade, F1 Pit Area, (Next To Singapore Flyer), Singapore (22/11/14)

Skechers Sundown Festival 2014 is an iconic music festival which brings Asian artistes and fans onto one singular platform, celebrating and bridging the diverse Asian culture through music and food. Spreading and extending its reach every year, the festival in 2014 will be featuring artistes from 11 countries showcasing the best local artiste from each country. Each year, selected upcoming and locally established artistes are lined-up for the showcase to keep the festival fresh for fans to look forward to.
Aside from enjoying the music from the various countries, fans will also get to relish popular street food from the different Asian countries at the food stalls set-up on the festival grounds.
Artistes Line Up:
Shila Amzah - Malaysia
Making her singing debut as a child, Shila Amzah has risen up to become one of Malaysia’s best act. Several songs of hers have topped the Malaysian charts.
Her linguistic talent and powerful vocals brought her new fans from China, where she captivated audiences in various reality singing competitions such as “Asian Wave” and “I’m a Singer”.
Chang Chen Yue - Taiwan
Chang Chen Yue, better known as A-Yue, is a Taiwanese rock musician. He is well-known for his 1998 hit song "Ai Wo Bie Zou".
He is a songwriter, singer and guitarist, and also a dance music DJ under the name DJ Orange.
Kate Tsui - Hong Kong
Crowned Miss Hong Kong in 2004, Kate Tsui is currently an actress with TVB and singer.
She released her EP album Kiss Me Kate in 2009, and has gone on to win Gold for Best Prospect Award, in the 2009 RTHK Top 20 Gold songs Awards.
In 2011, she recorded the song, “I will wait for you” with Michael Tse, a subtheme of Relic of an Emissary, a popular Hong Kong television drama serial.
Olivia Ong - Singapore
Started out as a member of J-pop group Mirai, Singaporean singer Olivia Ong began her singing career in 2001 as a member of J-pop group Mirai.
In 2005, she embarked on her solo career with the album “A Girl Meets Bossa Nova”, a collection of bossa nova classics for the Japanese market.
She became a big hit in Singapore after she sang the theme song of the Peranakan-themed drama serial “The Little Nonya” in 2009, and since then she has expended her presence to Taiwan.
Big Ass - Thailand
Originally starting out as a pop rock band in 1997, Thailand-based five-piece setup Big Ass has since moved toward hardcore punk in their recent works.
The band has a strong following in Thailand, and has bagged numerous accolades and topped music charts in Thailand.
Pupil - Philippines
Pupil, is a rock band comprising of Ely Buendia (lead vocals) Dok Sergio (bass), Wendell Garcia (drums) and Jerome Velasco (guitars).
With their origin from Manila, Philippines, the band is known for their eclectic mix of genres, such as post-punk revival, alternative rock, and new wave revival.
Weaver - Japan
Formed during their high school in 2004, Japanese three-member boy band WEAVER made their debut in 2009 with their digital single “Hakuchoumu”.
They released their single in 2010 “Hard to say I love you ~lidasenakut~”, which was used as the theme song for J-drama “Sunao ni Narenakute”.
Kanika Kapoor - India
Based in the United Kingdom, Kanika Kapoor is an Indian Punjabi Sufi folk singer.
In 2012, she released her first music video “Baby Doll”, which was featured in Bollywood thriller “Ragini MMS 2”, released in India to a great reception.
Her most recent song, “Lovely” was part of the soundtrack for Hindi Film Happy New Year, starring Shah Rukh Khan, set to be released in October 2014.
Her looks has also landed her modeling roles on the catwalk for famous designers including Emilio Pucci, Moschino, Amrapali, Louis Vuitton and fashion maestro, Karl Lagerfeld or “Uncle Karl” to Kanika.
Cross Gene - Korea
A six-member multinational boy band based in South Korea, Cross Gene comprises of members from South Korea (Sangmin, Yongseok, Shin and Seyoung) China, (Casper) and Japan (Takuya).
Their debut mini-album “Timeless: Begins”, released in June 2012, peaked at number eight on the Goan weekly album chart. The band will make their debut cinema appearance in movie ZEDD.
S.O.S - Indonesia
S.O.S (abbreviation of Sensation of Stage) is an Indonesian girl group whose members composed of the finalists from the Galaxy Superstar talent show.
Their first mini-album, titled Start Of Sensation features 4 tracks, including Independent Girl (Indonesian and English Version). Their best hit “Drop It Low" (Indonesian and English Version) charted #3 on Channel [V] music charts.
Regina Lin - China
Well versed in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, Regina Lin is a popular DJ-Singer based in Guangzhou.
Aside being an all-rounded radio host, she also hosts various car shows.
Her hit song includes a cover of Beyond’s “Qing Ren” (情人), which received rave reviews.
Shigga Shay
Pek Jin Shen, better known by his stage name ShiGGa Shay, is a hip hop artist, songwriter and music producer based in Singapore.
Described as “Singapore’s Kayne West”, ShiGGa Shay’s interest for hip hop music started at the age of 9. He made his first public appearance in a Singapore talent show in 2009. Since then, he’s made a name for himself, rapping across Singapore and released an album later in 2012.
Jeremy Teng
Having outwit other contenders from all over the world, including Italy and Brazil, Jeremy Tang did Singapore proud by scoring the champion in the Nodojima The World Spring 2014 singing competition, held in Japan earlier this year.
The aspiring singer was amongst the 20 international contestants handpicked to take part in the competition.
